Taxes Not many years ago our nation had no national debt, had the largest middle class, was the most prosperous in the world and Mom stayed home to raise the kids. Now, both parents must work and one of the incomes is used just to pay the tax bill. Excessive taxation destroys the incentive of producers of goods and services. We must ask ourselves how do higher taxes lead to higher national debt. The Problem: - The excessive confiscation of tax dollars from individuals and corporations are destroying the incentive of producers of goods and services.
- Governments at all levels and the IRS are, in affect, stealing more than 50% of our income from “We The People.”
- Most taxes are unrelated to profit.
- Tax is not only increased by percentage of value but also fees and penalties.
- Through inflation, government is secretly confiscating part of the wealth of citizens. (and only one person in a million is aware of it)
The Cause: - Elected officials are not honoring our Constitution on monetary policies. We have a spending discipline problem caused by unrestrained leaders in all entities of government.
- We have too many taxing agencies such as IRS, County, City, School tax, state controllers, franchise tax, retail sales tax, gas tax, phone tax, service sales tax, etc.
- Cheating via pork barrel spending (earmarks)
- Dishonest spending on non-government projects such as professional sports stadiums
- Aid to almost every foreign government.
- Financing illegal guests in our country
- Majority of tax dollars are spent contrary to the Constitution of the United States
Possible Solutions: - Pass a Constitutional amendment requiring a balanced budget for each and every governmental bureau.
- Require a full hearing on each item of government spending. If spending is not permitted by the Constitution the answer should be no.
- Abolish the IRS and implement “Fair Tax” as a first step. Then eliminate the “Fair Tax”.
- Re-implement a tariff system for imports
- Implement a “tribute” (tax) for foreign workers in the U.S.
- Tax revolt by “We The People” (Withhold taxes until the elected officials honor their oath of office)
